The eight-episode DC Studios drama series continues The Batman crime saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began in 2022’s The Batman movie and centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.
The series stars Colin Farrell (The Batman), Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs), Rhenzy Feliz (Marvel’s Runaways), Michael Kelly (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Damsel), Deirdre O’Connell (Outer Range), Clancy Brown (Gen V), and Michael Zegen (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel).
The Penguin is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFranc, who writes and serves as showrunner, Craig Zobel, who directs the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro. Based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, The Penguin is produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Reeves and 6th & Idaho are under an overall deal.
The Penguin will be released on Max this autumn in the US. It hasn’t been confirmed where the series will be shown in the UK but Max series are usually shown on Sky.
